Meet Kenia Mahdi
Postpartum Care Specialist
Peace & Blessings!
I'm Lakenia, but everyone calls me Kenia. I'm a mother of four beautiful children; two girls and two boys, all under the age of six. I currently home-school during the day with lots of flexibility. I'm a certified postpartum doula; as well as, DONA trained. I wear many hats that range from belly binding practitioner to infant and toddler sign language instructor. I'm well versed in ancient postpartum techniques. I have been doing this since 2013. I established my business in 2015.
Why the name, Your Mahdi Doula? Well, it's simple. Mahdi is my last name and it means Rightly Guided by G-d. I believe G-d's guidance is the best guidance for the best possible outcome. I couldn't think of a better name for my postpartum business.
My purpose is to provide educated and nurturing assistance during the postpartum phase for infant(s), mother, and family. To improve the cohesiveness of the family and encourage a group effort in caring for the mother, father, and the family's new addition(s).
As you explore this site you will come upon my services and, most important of all, the Tehmina Postpartum Healing Kit. Upon purchase of this kit, you will be invited to my private postpartum healing group. This is where I will act as your virtual postpartum doula. To answer whatever questions you might have.
Why hire a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula specializes in nurturing the family during the sweet, but challenging time, following the arrival of a newborn baby. Rather this is your first or fifth time around. However, we support first-time mothers emotionally and teach them techniques that can help smooth their transitions from woman to mother. Increasing their success in areas such as breastfeeding and reduction of postpartum depression. Can help the father to learn the art of mothering the mother, helping the father to discover all he can about his baby, as well as developing his own concept of himself as a parent. Most importantly, to help parents to adjust their own relationship, moving forward to enhance their previous life together as a couple who are now parents.
I believe that every woman has the right to be able to equip themselves, to educate themselves, to help themselves, in-order to heal themselves; through postpartum care.
